Day 10
Yesterday when we woke up we found out that someone broke into our car. They smashed the side window. Luckily we took our TomTom inside with us the night before like we always do. They took nothing out of the car except peter's sunglasses. Hilda heard a car alarm around 4 o'clock and so did Peter. But they didn't take Any of the radios or the tools that were in the back So we had to rush to the police station and also we had to get a new car at the airport. I thought that it would take a long time for us to get it all sorted out but thank god it didn't. We now have a Volkswagen vivo. From the airport we went to three pools. All of the thamsanqa kids would be there to have a nice day out and we were asked to come as well. The road to three pools is quite long so we thought we had missed it. When we finally arrived it was beautiful. There was grass and pools and a beach. The beach had rocks that were easy to climb. We arrived before the kids but they followed shortly after. We played with the kids and we helped preparing the lunch. A lot of the kids swam. Roeli did too. I forgot my swimsuit and the water was super cold. We went to the beach with the kids and they had a lovely time. After that we went home. We were so tired because the kids kept you busy. So we went to bed early.

Day 11
Today we set the alarm at 6:00 because we had to go to court. Don't worry we didn't commit a crime. We went with Tia today she picked us up at 7:00 and we went to the court. At 8:00 we hoped the mother of 2 of the new kids would arrive to attend court. She showed up. We waited for a while and at one moment she stood up and said that she was going to breastfeed her small baby. And she walked away. We were very worried that she ran away from us. She's done that before. But she came back and we went inside. It was a really interesting process. The mother didn't speak English very well so we had a translator and in my opinion the mother didn't even care that 2 of her 3 children were put in foster care. I would probably protest and try to deny the neglect and everything but she didn't. Louise brought her home and apparently she cried on the way home. So she does have some kind of heart. I couldn't understand why you would ignore and mistreat your children. Not feeding them. Not taking one of them to the AIDS clinic. Not being home and leave them. And still she drinks a lot and she breastfeeds a little one year old. But never mind. So after that experience we went to the under the tree project. The little crèche that is a shack. When we came to the shed of the 2/3 years old. There were 4 children and Tia got cross. They should go and fetch the kids. And we came back there would be more children they promised. So we went to the shed of the 4/5 years old. We played anna Maria koek koek with them. But the teachers thought that we could take over the entire lesson and didn't do anything. But we didn't speak the language (Cosha) and the kids do not speak English so we had a bit of a problem. At that crèche they do not have anything so they cannot colour or anything. Eventually we left so the teachers had to do something. We went back to the other little crèche to check and bring some clothes. After that Tia dropped us with Anneke and Peter who busy in lulama's house. We went to Tia's office to hang a medical kit and we went home. At home Roeli didn't feel well so she went to bed. Peter, Anneke, Peter and I went to visit a girl or women now that lived in the thamsanqa houses but she moved out when she was older she also left school. She lives in a shack. It was hard seeing that. She lost both her kids and has no job. She only ate a bread that they baked herself. She lives with 2 other people in the shack. And she didn't have any money to buy any food so we gave her some money. After that we went home to have dinner and Louise and Tia came to talk with us about our evaluation. What we thought of everything. Peter went To bed. When they left we decorated the room with balloons because tomorrow's peter's birthday. NEVER does Peter come inside after he says that he goes to bed. But of course today he did. So tomorrow we celebrate his birthday and we are going to Tinkertots
